Treated.com is a pharmacy business in Manchester in northern Britain. For many years, they had delivered prescription medication to other online pharmacies, and now they wanted to get closer to the end customer and start their own pharmacy online.
The vision was to create the simplest and clearest ordering experience for medication, and I was asked to make it that a reality.
The new site is based on a single field, with a search function that resembles Google. The purchase flow guides the user, step by step, through an online consultation with Treated’s MDs. The service is now active in most of the EU and receives hundreds of orders every month.
How do we make it a pleasure for the customer to order medication online?
The challenge for us in the project was to peel off and remove anything that was not absolutely necessary for user satisfaction. The most important thing was the security of the meeting between the patient and the consulting MD
A search field to search and select medication
In order to create a natural and smooth navigation, the search bar on the home page needed to be equipped with an intelligence that was lightning fast in giving the customer the appropriate product options.
In our solution, the search function was designed so the result not only showed the most relevant answers, but also alternative products that could help the customer with the ailment he/she was seeking help for.
Optimized buying experience in mobile phones and tablets
There can be many reasons to seek the help of an online pharmacy. The patient may feel that he/she does not have enough time to schedule an appointment with their regular MD, or maybe the issue is a so sensitive that the patient feels embarrassed to speak personally with an MD..
To make the shopping experience as easy as possible for the patient, it was important to be enable ordering from anywhere, at anytime, and from the pharmacy unit that suited the patient best. Therefore, we put on focus on the responsive aspect of the page from the very beginning.
The concept is completed after a two-day workshop
During my years as a designer, I have developed efficient methods that reduce the time it takes to transform digital concepts into innovative and profitable solutions.
During a two-day workshop I was able, together with the client, to develop the whole concept for the site: the purchase flow from the home page, through the checkout and on to the thank you page, landing pages for search engine optimization and the process of re-ordering when the customer’s medications had been depleted.
